Fleet management has been the hallmark of Latium Fleet Management for more than a decade. As its business has grown, so have its services. This is a direct result of the company’s ability to stay close to its clients and respond to their needs, according to President Tony Pecorilli. “Our experience tells us that if we listen to our clients, take up their challenges and provide with solutions, then together we will succeed,” he says.

Latium has evolved from a simple service company to a company that provides solutions, it asserts. “Advanced fleet management, professional services and advanced GPS and monitoring are all part of our total fleet solutions,” Latium says. “The total fleet solution is not a predefined solution, it is defined by the unique needs of each Latium client.”

Situated in the heart of the Alberta oil industry, the Nisku-based company was founded in 1996 by Pecorilli and his wife, Vice President Lori Pecorilli. “Latium has built its services and reputation on their outstanding advanced fleet management services,” the company says. “For over a decade, they have been providing clients with total vehicle and heavy equipment management for the lifecycle of their assets. From acquisition, service and repair, and retiring the asset from the fleet, Latium manages all aspects.”

“Our customers enjoy the convenience of only having to make one call to one company to address any asset-related issues,” Tony Pecorilli says. “Need a new passenger van? Call Latium. Need an appraisal on a damaged flat deck? Call Latium. A truck has been in a collision and you need a replacement vehicle? Call Latium. In fact, Latium provides [our] clients – free of charge – fleet consultants who manage all of these challenges on [their] behalf.”

Save Time, Save Money
Latium describes itself as “a proactive organization with customer service as a key success factor that has seen consistent growth over the past decade with loyal clientele.” The company serves oil and gas, forestry, hospitality, municipalities and construction companies’ fleet management needs. It provides clients with a single point of contact for any fleet or asset-related need.

Latium’s consultants can assist in project planning, lease vs. rent analysis and daily logistics planning. Clients who have taken advantage of this free service find they are able to manage their fleets much more effectively, the company asserts. “Of course, that translates into saving time and money,” it says.

Saving money is the biggest advantage of Latium’s advanced fleet program. “Latium has relationships with dealers and repair shops across North America,” the company says. “They have negotiated special pricing with each of their partners to ensure that customers save money.”

“If there are no savings for the customer, there is no charge for Latium services,” Lori Pecorilli adds. “The completed work is simply billed at Latium’s cost.”

In addition to providing customized services to clients, “Latium prides itself in using the latest technology” to serve them,” says Director of Operations and Marketing Kwok Kwan. “Our Web interface Latlogix allows our clients to quickly locate the history and status of any asset that is or was part of their fleet.”

Advanced GPS Monitoring
GPS monitoring is a key element to Latium’s total fleet solution. “While the technology itself is simply a tool for gathering raw data, Latium understands how to deliver value from the data,” the company says.

“That is where Latium separates itself from other GPS providers. GPS provides the data; Latium integrates that data into a GPS solution that delivers real ROI and benefits to their clients.”

“Many companies sell GPS as a solution; however, GPS is only a tool,” Tony Pecorilli points out. “A hammer itself cannot build a house. Likewise, GPS technology by itself cannot improve safety, save money or save lives. For this reason, Latium developed the advanced GPS monitoring solution.

A basic GPS solution should be able to provide real-time feedback on the speed, direction and location of a vehicle and other mobile assets – Latium’s advanced GPS technology goes much farther. The solution in the context of the fleet management monitors the operational and mechanical status of all assets in the fleet and provides real-time alerts.
